With a loss against London Esports in week 7 of the UKEL 2020 Spring Split, Viperio finish the regular season bottom of the table in 8th place with a record of 1W-6L.
The result is unfortunate considering Viperio were the winners of the UKEL 2019 Summer Split, the leagues inaugral tournament. We hoped to build on our legacy from late 2019, however the competition this season proved themselves as strong oponents.
Full results by week were as follows:
Week 1: Viperio vs Absolved (loss)
Week 2: Viperio vs Peak (loss)
Week 3: Viperio vs Mythos (loss)
Week 4: Viperio vs Bulldog (win)
Week 5: Viperio vs Vector (loss)
Week 6: Viperio vs NSG (loss)
Week 7: Viperio vs LDN (loss)
Luke McCabe, Head of Esports (EMEA) commented on the team’s performance:
“We had a rough start to the season losing our first 3 matches, however we saw continuous progress throughout the early stages of the tournament. Things looked promising once we took our first win against Bulldog, but unfortunately our remaining competitors simply performed better on the day. Although this isnt the result we desired, it has been a pleasure to compete in another season of the UKEL, and we look forward to competing again later in the year.”
