Viperio Team Durham, the university Counterstrike: Global Offensive division of Viperio, have had great success this academic term (January – March). Not only have they attended 2 offline events, Gameblast Newcastle 2019 & EpicLAN Grosvenor Season 2 Newcastle Qualifier, but the team have had some of their best university league results to date.
Begining with NSE CSGO Championship, this was the first time this line-up had signed up to the league (as roster was established after signups last season).Going in confident, the team managed to qualify for the Challenger Bracket (just missing out on Championship bracket by one map win). After playing through the bracket, the team managed to finish the league in 15th (out of 90).
The team had a similar showing in the slightly larger NUEL CSGO Championship, which boasted 133 university csgo team signups. Viperio Team Durham had relatively good success, with a positive map win/loss ratio. Some of the lossess were default due to the team failing to check-in on time. Despite this, the team pushed on and managed to finish 23rd in the final standings.
Our CEO, Christopher Sword, had this to say:

“As both CSGO manager for Durham University, and Owner of Viperio, I’m proud of how well the team has done this season. They have showed that Durham University is home to some strong CSGO players, and have represented Viperio well in the university leagues.” – Christopher Sword

The team is currently on Easter Break, as the leagues are currently in off-season. Be sure to follow Viperio Team Durham’s dedicated Twitter account, to stay up to date with the teams progress: @teamdurhamcs.
