Irish CS:GO player Matas “Extinct” Strumila joins Viperio in place of Rory “cryths” Ursell who is unable to play with the team due to external commitments.
Effective immediately, Matas “Extinct” Strumila joins Viperio’s starting five in preparation for the team’s run in the BLAST Paris Major EU Regional Major Rankings (RMR) A. Matas, who most recently played for orgless UK side Dripmen, is best known for his time across rosters such as UMX Gaming, Coalesce, EKO & SOS, playing with current Viperio members Tom “arTisT’ Clarke, Callum “Girafffe” Jones and Ciaran “biscu” King. Matas left shortly before the SOS roster was acquired by Viperio.
Rory “cryths” Ursell, the super sub who played with the team throughout the line-up’s run across the open and closed qualifiers, is unfortunately unable to commit to the teams schedule in the lead up, during and after the RMR event due to existing commitments outside of esports.
Viperio CS:GO Coach Ciaran “biscu” King commented on the decision to use Matas over Rory in the upcoming RMR event:
”Unfortunately due to Rory's [cryths] existing commitments, we don't think we can add him to the roster knowing the impact he would have on our existing schedule. He would have to join the roster full time for the roster move to make sense. Unfortunately this is not possible at this moment in time.

Ciarán went on to further comment: “This was a difficult decision to make as it was always going to leave some people disappointed. Rory ‘Cryths’ Ursell was instrumental in our run to qualify for the RMR and was a big ball of energy that the team fed off. We will all forever be thankful and indebted to him for that”.
As we discussed in a recent article, Javier ‘Ping‘ Griffiths moved to the substitute position with decision around a long term 5th to be confirmed. The core of the team has decided to use Matas as our 5th going forward.
Regarding the addition of Matas [Extinct], Tom “arTisT’ Clarke provided the following commentary:
”I am looking forward to reuniting with Matas, my Irish companion. I think he will play a crucial part of the team moving forward and I am very excited for our future together.
