Viperio fans can now directly fund our esports teams by watching live matches, highlights, interviews and behind the scenes content featuring our players and staff thanks to a ground-breaking partnership with Recast.

Viperio has joined pioneering new Over-The-Top (OTT) platform Recast, which allows rights holders of any size to go direct-to-customer for free, without any upfront or ongoing costs. Unlike other platforms, supporters will be able to turn their viewership into Recast’s in-app credits simply by signing up, watching ads, sharing videos and inviting friends. The in-app credits can then be used to watch to watch platform exclusive content from Viperio, such as behind the scenes videos and original content.

With all revenue generated being reinvested back into the club, the move is one of many ways Viperio is seeking to maximise its earning potential, without further financial impact to fans.

Viperio Founder & Managing Director Christopher Sword discussed some of the benefits of the partnership:

“Viperio are delighted to team up with Recast to enhance our digital content strategy moving into 2022. Joining a growing list of high profile brands, we are excited to be an early adopter of Recast as we look to level up our in-house media. Viewers can watch premium content first on Recast, plus live broadcasts, interviews and docuseries. With all revenue reinvested back into our teams, our followers can directly support their favourite players by simply consuming our content.”

Viperio joins other leading esports clubs including Jesse Lingard’s Jlingz Esports, Ruud Gullit’s Team Gullit and LDN UTD as early adopters of the platform. Viperio will continue to publish content on it’s most popular social media platforms (such as Twitter), however certain content pieces will be premiered first on Recast.

Andy Meikle, Founder and CEO of Recast said:

“We are delighted to welcome these forward-thinking esports teams, with some of the brightest names in the sport, to Recast to bring fans closer to the content they want.”

“We are already seeing great success for our esports partners, and are committed to ensuring this only increases. We are thrilled that each of the teams trusts us to help them capitalise on the potential of the fast-growing esports industry when combined with a solution like ours.”
