Viperio CSGO take on fellow Newcastle side Clique for the first time since 2019 in the Quarter-Finals of the Beyond Winter Invitational
It has been four years since Viperio last saw a Newcastle derby rivalry, and bragging rights are for the taking.
Viperio last faced against fellow Newcastle based esports team, Clique Esports in the League of Legends UKEL Summer 2019 season. Clique were unbeaten in the Summer Split, finishing above Viperio who only lost two games. Clique’s winning streak came to an end when it mattered the most as Viperio defeated the reigning unbeaten Summer Split champions in the playoff stage.
Since then, both Newcastle teams have yet to face each other in any esports title.
Clique qualified for tonight’s Beyond Invitation Winter 2022 game through the open qualifier, out placing teams like eMasters and Legates Esports.
Under a different organisation, the core of Viperio’s roster won Beyond Invitational Summer 2022, giving them a direct invite into the Beyond Invitation Winter 2022 and incentive to defend the throne.
Viperio has been referred to as one of the best (if not the best) rosters in the country, giving us confidence ahead of tonight’s game at 9:00pm in the quarter finals of Beyond Invitational Winter 2022.
