Statement by Christopher Sword (19/05/2021):
At 11:36am on the 19th May 2021, I was contacted by Team Manager Alan Reid, who informed me about an interaction between Viperio Top-Laner 🇬🇧 Mantas ‘Angler’ Venskunas and another player in the League of Legends community earlier this morning. The interaction occurred during a solo queue game on League of Legends. At the end of this match, Mantas went out of his way to add the unnamed player to threaten them.
To investigate this incident, I personally reached out to the player Mantas had contacted, to learn first hand about the interaction. I then followed up directly with Mantas to confirm the story. Mantas owned up and admitted this interaction took place.
Viperio will not tolerate any form of harassment. This interaction is a direct breach of Mantas’ contract with Viperio. In response to this, we have decided to terminate Mantas’ contract with immediate effect.
Viperio’s development Top-Laner 🇬🇧 Sean ‘Shieda‘ Hyde will be moving into our starting roster until further notice.
Viperio takes its position within the League of Legends and wider esports community very seriously. We expect the behaviour of our representatives, both in-game and out of game, to reflect our club values.
